Dr. Sonal Patel Maru

Dr. Sonal Patel Maru earned her doctorate of dental medicine (DMD) from Boston University School of Dental Medicine. She did additional training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York before starting her Orthodontic residency program at St. Barnabas Hospital in affiliation with Columbia University. During her training, she was fortunate to have had the opportunity to treat many challenging cases in a community that is underserved. In addition, she participated in multidisciplinary craniofacial conferences at Columbia University. After completing her orthodontic residency in 2005 and earning her certificate in orthodontics, she worked as an associate in multiple successful practices. This gave her the chance to learn from her more experienced colleagues and provided valuable insight into the practical aspects of the field.

Dr. Patel Maru is excited about starting her practice in the town of Glastonbury. After moving to the area in 2011 with her husband and 2 young daughters, she has found the environment to be close knit, warm and inviting. She is thrilled to settle down roots and develop her practice capturing the warmth and community feel of Glastonbury.

The vision of the practice is to provide high quality orthodontic care with a personal touch. The state of the art office is designed to engage all of her patients in a friendly and comfortable environment. She prides herself on spending time with each and every patient ensuring that concerns and goals are addressed in order to achieve a healthy, beautiful, and confident smile.

Outside of work, Dr. Patel Maru loves spending time with her husband and 5 and 6 year old daughters who keep her on the go! She also enjoys traveling the world, reading, and photography. Be sure to ask her about some of her photography of Glastonbury that you see in the new office!
